DISCOVER EXCELLENCE is the foundational, two-day workshop that introduces the Shingo Model™, the Shingo Guiding Principles, and the Three Insights to Organizational Excellence™. It provides the basic understanding needed in all Shingo workshops and is a prerequisite for all other Shingo Workshops.
The host of the site is Abbott Logistics Distribution Center: Breda; Netherlands. This multi-award winning site is part of the Abbott Nutrition (ANSC) Division and has been recognized as a Top Employer in The Netherlands every year since 2015 and also the Safest Warehouse in The Netherlands. The Abbott Logistics Distribution Center in Breda, The Netherlands, stores and distributes 22 million cases of nutritional products, pharmaceutical products and medical devices annually to warehouses, retailers, wholesalers or directly to consumers in over 80 countries across the globe via air, truck, courier and ocean. ANSC has, to date, six Shingo Prize recipient sites across the globe.
WHAT YOU WILL LEARN

As a participant, you will:

- EXPLORE how the Shingo Guiding Principles inform ideal behaviors that ultimately lead to sustainable results.
- UNDERSTAND the behavioral assessment process through an interactive case study and on-site learning.
EILISH HENRY - Eilish Henry is the Director of Europe for SISU Consulting Group. She is experienced in business delivery, organisational change, in particular culture change, including both design and implementation. She is a Shingo Examiner and is highly experienced in assessing organisations against the Shingo Excellence framework and also in helping organisations to self-assess against Excellence Frameworks. She was the first Shingo global coach appointed in Europe and has delivered more than 120 Shingo workshops - consistently receiving excellent delegate feedback. Over the past 15 years she has worked with and supported a large number of organizations to achieve levels of Shingo recognition from Shingo Bronze Medallion to the ultimate, Shingo Prize. In particular she has supported 13 out of the 22 most recent Shingo Prize recipients. Her focus is primarily on ensuring the sustainability of improvements achieved through lean programs by securing real “buy-in” and ownership at all levels and in all functions of the client business. In 2004 she was awarded the Order of the British Empire (OBE) for her work in leading large cultural change programs in the UK public sector.
