SESSION 2 – BUILDING AND COMMUNICATING AN ACTIONABLE PLAN

This session shows leaders how to build a turnaround plan that balances the need for short term financial stabilization with a targeted approach to securing future growth.  Participants will learn the key cultural elements and leadership behaviours necessary for getting results quickly and improving e.  Finally, the session will provide tactical, real world advice for actions to take in the first 180 days to stop the bleeding, mobilize your people and start winning again.

SESSION 3 – MOTIVATING PEOPLE DURING TIMES OF FEAR AND UNCERTAINTY

This session teaches leaders how to motivate people in times of crisis when fear of the future has impacted their ability to execute in the present.  The session will review the barriers to motivation brought on my increased levels of stress as well as what leaders can do to align the organization to a message of hope for the future.  Finally, participants will learn how to redefine winning on a daily basis to encompass profitability and purpose and the three changes leaders must make in order to effectively connect with their people and accomplish their goals.

SESSION 4 – LEADING WITH HUMILITY TO BUILD CREDIBILITY AND GET RESULTS

his session dives deeper into the qualities and leadership style necessary for success in turnaround environments.  Participants will learn the three most important character traits to look for in themselves and key leaders in the organization as well as how to balance autonomy and accountability at the team level.    Finally, the session will review the keys to improving demonstrated humility across all levels of leadership and the four actions leaders can take immediately to build credibility with their people and improve their leadership humility.

SESSION 5 – DEVELOPING A CULTURE WITH A BIAS FOR ACTION

The final session in the series reviews the characteristics of organizational cultures that thrive during times of crisis.  Participants will learn the keys to developing a culture that embraces a bias for action and rapid experimentation.  This approach allows the organization to quickly adapt to changing market conditions, accelerate the rate of change and capitalize on new opportunities.  Finally, the session will cover the keys to developing future leaders who continue to develop and drive the organization to new levels of success.

Mike has personally coached more than 200 organization in implementing the principles of Enterprise Excellence, including Baxter Healthcare, Boeing, Raytheon, Intermountain Healthcare, La-Z-Boy, OC Tanner, Daimler, University of Washington, Aera Energy, Boston Scientific, Christie Clinic and Abbott.  Over the past 20 years, Mike has contributed hugely to the development of the Shingo Model and Assessment Framework, is Director Emeritus of the Shingo Institute, 3x  Shingo Prize winning author and Lifetime member of the Shingo Academy. 

Prior to founding SISU, Mike worked in the private equity arena, successfully turning around companies in both manufacturing and service industries.  It was during this time as a turnaround specialist that Mike was personally mentored in the principles of the Toyota Production System and refined his approach to driving business results by designing a management system that engages each member of the organization in team-based problem solving toward customer-centric goals.
